It's an unfortunate situation, but if it was truly a short ship then there's nothing ULTA can do. If you're in VA and they have a warehouse in NY and Wyoming, more than likely they're going to pull from the NY one first. (And those warehouses are in different parts of the country, so they pull from the one closest to you to make sure your order ships fast. They can't sell an extra 100 pieces because they don't physically have the lipsticks in hand, and by the time they've tried to fulfill your order from another ULTA warehouse location, that one is out of stock as well because people are still putting in orders. All the paperwork says that ULTA warehouse should have 1000 pieces except that the box only has 900. However, for some reason (whether it's because of who actually packaged and shipped the order or the MAC warehouses didn't count correctly), one of the warehouses only received 900 lipsticks in Velvet Teddy. That was the plan, it was agreed upon by all parties, end of discussion. Say each ULTA warehouse was supposed to get 1000 pieces each of the MAC lipsticks in each color. I work with vendors in a similar way - when an order is short shipped that means that not all of their inventory arrived that was promised. count the lipsticks you have, put that number for sale.īut whatever, she sent me an e gift card for the purchase price of the lipstick. she explains it was a "short ship" from the vendor. I finally talk to her today and I explain that I am frustrated for a few reasons. I get another email asking if I was satisfied with the service I received when I emailed.

someone writes back and is like oh sorry for the confusion you are getting the lipstick. So I sent an email to ulta asking for clarification.
